Our Story
Message from Modestly founder,
I started Modestly because I wanted to share my love for pre-worn fashionable modest clothing and provide a central location for people to find and love modest clothing that have been very modestly worn and are in excellent condition, yet at modest and affordable prices.
It is equally important to welcome the donation of clothing that is no longer needed and create a place that can deal with the whole process – from clothing donation, cleaning, mending, marketing to clothing resale and dispatch.
As a mum of four living in Oxford, who has worked in academia for over a decade, I spent much time sourcing modest vintage and pre-loved smart workwear online. My pre-worn purchasing journey began over fifteen years ago and has led to many complimentary comments from colleagues, students and friends over the years regarding my eclectic and stylish clothing – much of it modest pre-worn clothing. Launching this business is my intention to share both the benefits of buying and donating pre-worn clothing, but also to build a lasting business based on conscious purchasing.
